Course Description
Candidates learn the diagnostic, installation and management skills to improve the energy efficiency of commercial and residential buildings.
Graduates will have the knowledge and ability to provide solutions to reduce air leaks in a Building Envelope. This conserves the energy required for heating and cooling.
Successful graduates from this training program will earn 3 national certifications enabling them to obtain employment in the Building Retrofit, Insulation, Facility, Maintenance and Weatherization industries.
The curriculum is delivered as both an online set of classes that you can take on your own timeframe and from a local classroom.
The Curriculum
The course is a three (3) certificate curriculum in two categories: Job Specific and Soft Skill. The job specific category utilizes the Department of Energy and WAPTAC content. Most state agencies approve of this curriculum. Skill topics are in: Air Sealing, Duct Sealing, Insulation and Base Load Measurements. The soft skill category is delivered in Customer Service, Anger Management, First Aid, OSHA and Being a Great Employee.
Additional Certifications
Graduates may be able to sit for additional certifications from other agencies, including BPI, (Building Performance Institute) and RESNET (Residential Services Network).
